A holistic approach to sustainable design that recognises the overall impact buildings have on our environment and communities in which they exist and that there are many ways in which we can make better buildings.

Sustainability and resilience

Our design approach understands a building should minimise its impact on the environment by reducing its energy use with responsive design. We also create buildings that can be useful both now and in the future, buildings that are flexible and adaptable to change, with components that can be reused and recycled helping to create a circular economy.

Low carbon materials

Our approach understands that the carbon released in the manufacture of materials for our buildings, (embodied carbon) represents up to 50% of the carbon release over a building’s life. By using engineered timber such as CLT and other low carbon materials we can reduce the impact a building has on the environment from day one.

Innovation is at the core of our approach, we aim to ensure we are using the most up to date and exciting techniques in materials, fabrication, digital tools and environmental data, while working with our extensive network of expert collaborators within sustainable design, engineering and manufacture.
