Design and planning for timber office building in Shoreditch
Development house is a proposal for a nine-storey timber-framed office block will be one off the tallest engineered timber building in London, and a beacon building for Shoreditch.
Constructed from a combination of CLT slabs, walls and cores, with a glulam beam and post structural frame.
The building consists of five vertical segments around a central core, stepping levels between each segment create the opportunity for daylight, ventilation and views whilst allowing for the most efficient structural timber design. An outdoor garden terraces at the top of each segment is designed to promote well-being.
The unified timber façade, made up of vertical louvres, is responsive to solar gain and glare. It is also designed to enabled the retention of existing rights of light.
